P.S.

I am the victim of severe child abuse, including sexual abuse by a stepfather who was an alcoholic. He used to beat my mother unmercifully. He would also beat me, throw me against the walls and bed frame. Then he would tell me that it was all my fault because I refused to do comply with his sexual demands. He also loaned me out to his buddies. The last Christmas I spent with them was another drunken brawl. Because I couldn't take the violence anymore, I got the rifle out of the closet with the intent of killing him. I was 10 years old. Fortunately, the rifle was empty and I couldn't reach the bullets. Now, tell me there ain't no God.

While I know that not all homosexuals are as violent as he was, it has obviously tainted my perception. However, as I said before, it is not for me to judge. That's up to the Great Creator.

At no time did I condemn anyone in my comments. I simply said what I believe. And, at no time did I say that I have the one and only answer(s) to religion and faith. We are all born into a belief structure (most of us call it religion). And, as you have said, "it is no more a choice than you choosing to be born male or female." Ergo, no man is responsible for the rightness of his religion, be it Catholicism, Methodist, Judaism, Buddhism, or whatever. Who is to say which one is right? It could well be that they are all right - in the sense that all of the major religions of the world teach brotherly love, charity toward others, and living an upright and moral life. It is my belief that if you disagree with another religious faith, you should pray for them, not condemn them from ignorance. Regardless of a man's (gender neutral) religion, I do believe he is responsible for its uprightness.

And, no, I do not believe all homosexuals are pedophiles. That is about as absurd as saying that all Catholic priests are gay. It just ain't so. If you study psychology, you will learn that everyone, both men and women, have homosexual tendencies. In its simplest form, it is one man saying that he loves his father and/or brother. The same holds true for females. It goes from there to full blown sexual activity of one man with another. However, as I said in prior comments, I do believe homosexuality (i.e., one man having sexual intercourse with another) is a choice. To refrain from it takes personal discipline. The gay population would rather have the muscle spasm than to discipline themselves.

That's my belief - which I have a right to. And, because it is my belief, it does not mean that I condemn others. Any condemnation is strictly up to the Great Creator.
